About

Tarkhan

Tarkhan — ترکھان, meaning “carpenter” or “builder” — is a free, browser-based 2D floor plan designer.

It’s built around one idea: drawing a plan should feel fast and precise, and it shouldn’t need an install or a licence. Open a browser tab and you’re drawing — walls, doors, stairs, fixtures and rooms, all to scale, in metric or imperial units. Your work autosaves locally as you go.

How it’s built

Under the hood, walls are a connected graph of nodes rather than loose lines, which is what makes corners, T-junctions and “reshape together” behave naturally. Rooms are derived from closed loops, so areas stay correct as you edit. Everything is stored in real-world millimetres; the metric/imperial choice is purely a display lens.

Free to use

The editor is free. You can use it without an account — local autosave keeps your plan between sessions. Sign in only if you want to store projects in the cloud or share a read-only link.
